The new PERRIAM Woman Winter 2018 collection named Explorer, was inspired by our recent trip through Europe in October of last year.
The wonderful experience left a lasting impression on us and we both fell in love with the people, the places and the sights.
The trip took us to London, Paris, the South of France, Italy and lastly Copenhagen and all of these places left me inspired and mesmerised by the people and the fashion.
St Germain in Paris was filled with very cool Parisians and you couldn't help but want to fit in with the cool crowd. They dress so effortlessly cool and I would spend hours sitting in sidewalk cafes to people watch. The buildings and culture in Paris left a lasting impression on me and left me wanting to come back soon.
A real treat and highlight for me was visiting the amazing Christian Dior exhibition. This literally took my breath away and I could have stayed there for hours had my husband not eventually dragged me away! This glorious display had hundreds of garments since the start of his career to the present day.
In the South of France we found a slower pace, which we were grateful for after a busy and full on time in both London and Paris. The cute quaint cobblestone streets were delightful and just like the pictures.
Our first visit in Italy was to our Italian family in Biella, Northern Italy. Here we saw first hand how the huge mills operate making worsted merino cloth. Even though I had previously visited the mills I still learnt more and was in awe of the process.
Venice was a delight and a visit to the islands Burano and Murano was an added bonus where we watched skilled women make lace from hand.
We drunk wine in the Tuscany hillside, explored the Amalfi coast and of course pretended that we were Italian. Ciao, ciao, ciao.
Our last destination was Copenhagen and had always been on my bucket list as it was a place my late mother visited on a young farmers exchange in her 20's. This city did not disappoint and biking the city street made us feel like Danish locals.
The palace's took my breath away, the buildings were just as they promised they were going to be and of course we visited the famous mermaid. The food was outstanding and so was the fashion. Thank you Copenhagen, we shall be back.
Travelling Europe was an unforgettable experience and we were left wanting for more and we are already planning our next adventures.
I hope you love our new collection as much as we do and every time I look at the pieces I am reminded about some part of our exciting trip.
